Manita Soni Portrait

Welcome to my page. I am Manita, an artist and an arts teacher by profession. I’m interested in all forms and techniques of art and painting on all mediums (e.g. Miniature painting, Pichhwai painting, Oil painting, Acrylic painting, relief art and many more) and am always eager to practice and learn more in this field. I run my own painting classes which I love doing, love imparting any little knowledge that I have gained to budding artists. :). Please find a few of my work samples below.

Pichhwai art - Rajbhog Darshan

Pichhwai art - Rajbhog Darshan

Pichhwai art is a traditional style of painting from Rajasthan that depicts the life of Lord Krishna. This artwork has been very close to my heart. It involved countless number of hours meticulously painting the minutest of details. It uses real gold everywhere golden colour is seen in the painting. Here 4 Gopis can be seen worshiping the Baal-roop of Krishna.

Medium: Water colour on canvas
Size: 16" x 24"

Meditative Buddha - Oil Painting

Meditative Buddha - Oil Painting

This is one of my most loved paintings by friends and family. I have tried to show a deeply meditative Buddha with peace and tranquility in the surroundings. It definitely adds to the peace in my house :)

Medium: Oil paint on Canvas
Size: 30" x 20"

Radha Krishna Jugal Jodi - Poster Colour

Radha Krishna Jugal Jodi - Poster Colour

My latest Pichhwai painting, the traditional work showing the Jugal jodi of Radha Krishna. Jugal derives from the word ‘Yugal’, meaning two beings who are effectively born from one, or are a couple deeply in love. Besides the detailed, minute work that is characteristic of a Pichhwai painting, it again includes real gold foil work.

Medium: Poster colour on canvas
Size: 14" x 20"

Shrinath ji - Embossed art

Shrinath ji - Embossed art

This framed artwork is made on a wooden board. It is again one of the famous mudras of Shrinath ji (Krishna), adorned with gemstones, artificial gold foil, and water and soft pastel colours.

Medium: Water, Soft pastel colours on wooden board
Size: 13" x 17"

Tiger Close up - Acrylic Colour

Tiger Close up - Acrylic Colour

Wanted to try something different with this one. It is a tiger from up close with every single hair drawn with a thin brush. Thankfully the eyes turned up as I wanted.

Medium: Acrylic colour on canvas
Size: 14" x 18"

Radha Krishna - Relief Art

Radha Krishna - Relief Art

This textured Relief Art depicts Radha Krishna in a playful mood. It involved carefully crafting layer over layer of adhesive marble paste to draw every single line or curve in it to give a beautiful embossing effect. Even though it included quite a bit of effort, it was a also a very relaxing creating it, I must say.

Medium: Marble powder, oil colours on wood

Dreamscape - Acrylic Colour

Dreamscape - Acrylic Colour

A peaceful moment captured in colors—this painting depicts a woman standing on a serene terrace, gazing at the endless blue sea and distant mountains. The rustic charm of the old building, with its red doors and lush greenery, adds warmth to the scene. The soft clouds and calm waters create a dreamlike atmosphere, making this artwork a reflection of solitude, wonder, and quiet beauty.

A peaceful beach scene with soft waves, golden sand, and a tall palm tree swaying in the breeze. The blue ocean meets the sky, creating a calm and relaxing vibe. Creating the transparent layers of water one over the other was particularly interesting!
